Tasneem Sulaiman-Bray was appointed to serve on the Board of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls effective 1 January 2016. An attorney by profession, Tasneem is currently on the Management Committee, for South African based petroleum giant, Engen.
Tasneem has a wealth of experience, having held positions as an attorney and legal advisor for law firms as well as in corporate. She joined Engen in 2002, as a Regional Legal Advisor but her astute knowledge of the petroleum industry soon saw her move into various divisions within the company. This included Sales and Marketing where she held the position as Network Developer – Property before assuming the role as Chief Procurement Officer.
She then moved to the position of General Manager for Corporate Affairs responsible for overseeing and managing Engen’s government engagement, corporate communications, brand, sponsorship and corporate social investment. She held this position until February 2017. Her legal background forms a firm foundation for managing reputation while building solid relationships with government through proactive engagement and social investment.
As a successful woman in business, wife and mother to two young girls, Tasneem is passionate about creating platforms that will cultivate and nurture leadership qualities to enable girls to become astounding leaders.
