Kuhle Kunene began his career in 2002 as a graduate trainee at HSBC Investment Services Africa Ltd after obtaining his B.Bus.Sc degree from the University of Cape Town. After concluding rotations across a number of financial services disciplines and an accelerated training program at HSBC London-HQ, Kuhle was promoted to Junior Research Analyst supporting the institutional equities trading sales desk in 2004.
In 2005, Kuhle joined Brait Private Equity as a Deal Executive and was promoted to Director of Brait Private Equity in 2009 and represented Brait on a number of investee company Boards and was also appointed to the South African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Board of Directors. Kuhle was also part of the Brait fundraising team and was jointly responsible for South African Investor Relations. Kuhle spearheaded Brait’s underprivileged schools mentorship program during his tenor.
In 2011, Kuhle joined Pan-African Private Equity Fund Managers as a Director and Principal and jointly managed two semi-captive generalist mandate private equity funds. Kuhle has represented Pan-African on the investee company Boards of Denny Mushrooms and Multiknit and continues to serve on the Boards of Infrastructure Specialist Group and XLink Communications. Kuhle is currently the Head of Multi-Asset Fund Solutions at Standard Bank.
